Barnardo’s Chief Executive Javed Khan has expressed his ‘immense pride’ at receiving a Middle East Business Leaders award.

Mr Khan has headed up the UK’s largest children’s charity since 2014 and won the accolade of Leadership Excellence in Children Humanitarian Services to ‘honour his dedication towards children’.

The 55-year-old is the son of Kashmiri immigrants who could neither read nor write when they arrived in the UK.

He is a passionate advocate of the Barnardo’s philosophy: incredible things happen when you believe in children.

Barnardo’s Chief Executive Javed Khan said:

“I am immensely proud to have been able to help improve the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children and young people through my work as Barnardo’s Chief Executive.

“Tackling the very real problems that children and young people face is our day-to-day focus at Barnardo’s. I am proud to lead an organisation that improves the lives of children every day.”

“I am passionate about making a difference to society, and I’m humbled to be recognised by the Middle East Business Leaders awards for my thirty years of work in the public and voluntary sector.”

The award was presented at the InterContinental Hotel, Park Lane London, on 3rd December 2018.
