The Kind Counter, a new community social support and networking platform has been launched in Tower Hamlets.
The East End Covid Network team comprising of Abdal Ahmed, Rofikul Islam, Abul Hussain and Emdad Rahman took part in the opening and distributed hot food and books to members of the public.
The Kind Counter is in essence a wellbeing communication platform to share books, food, clothes, stationary and bespoke items with anyone and everyone for free.
It is also an opportunity for the team to say hello to members of the community.
The Kind Counter made its debut at East End Cycles on Mile End Road. Hussain from the local cycle repair shop commented, “Ww are proud sponsors of Emdad Rahman and his cycling exploits and have been looking for an opportunity like this. I’m really pleased we were able to use the Kind Counter to engage with the community today.”
City of London Freeman Rofikul Islam added, “This is a simple yet highly effective measure to spend joy through giving and I am most proud to be here today.”
Emdad Rahman of Bookbike London concluded, “We have a great team here and I’m pleased East End Cycles are hosting and supporting this simple but effective venture.
“Today’s meet and greet was good fun. We basically spend thirty minutes of our lunch break to do all this – It’s quick and impactful.
“Thank you to Abdul Aziz from HFC, Whitechapel for subsidising the food and to Cathy and Anorak Magazine for the books.”
