The team have been receiving support, advice and counsel from the East End Covid-19 Support Network and representing the team at the opening were Rofikul Islam, Abdal Ahmed and Emdad Rahman.
Foodbank is a project of Weavers Community Forum and will be providing free local support services every Monday and Thursday during lockdown and beyond.
WCF founder Yousuf Khan commented, “I want to thank all our donors and the East End Covid-19 Support Network team for their excellent support in helping this much needed project become a reality. Our volunteers are at the ready to deliver.”
Rofikul Islam added, “This is a hugely valuable service for the silent and vulnerable. Those who have no recourse to any support.”
Abdal Ahmed concluded, “If you are vulnerable and isolated we want you to know that you are not alone. Please reach out if you need help.”
