Volunteers were very much on the menu as the Human Relief Foundation London team organised a special get together at the Taste of India in the centre of London.
The appreciation three course dinner event focussed on the contributions volunteers make in the charity sector and many of the guests were gifted with certificates, plaques, personally handwritten thank you cards and Zam Zam water.
Sima Mahfuza Dorasat from HRF conducted proceedings for the evening which included presentations, brief speeches and a slide show film of volunteers in action.
Mehdi Chowdhury, London & South East Regional Fundraising Manager at Human Relief Foundation commented, “Tonight it is all about our volunteers who make the most amazing impact with their selfless acts and excellent commitment. They are our drivers and our team are constantly in awe and greatly inspired by their dedication and impact.
“We wish them the very best and this event is a very small thank you from us to them – It’s the least that we could do to highlight the extent of their sheer brilliance.”
A special plaque was presented to HRF stalwart Khoyrul Shaheed who immediately dedicated his award to his colleagues as a tribute to their support.
Award recipient Abdal Ahmed who has travelled to Ghana and Bangladesh with HRF to deliver food, aid and sports programmes added, “We were not expecting much more than a delicious meal and these tokens of appreciation were a complete bolt out of the blue. Naturally, all volunteers tonight have unanimously expressed their delight at such recognition.
“We don’t do this for this purpose but feeling valued will most certainly enhance our work and boost our enthusiasm.”
For over two decades Human Relief Foundation has been instrumental in saving lives & relieving suffering in some of the poorest regions of the world.
