The membership of Da’watul Islam UK & Eire is pleased to announce the re-election of Hasan Mueenuddin as President for the Organisational Session 2019/2021. The election was held on Sunday 16th June 2019 at Darul Ummah – The House of Community, London.
To serve on the organisation’s Executive Council, members also elected HM Abu Sayeed, Dr Abul Kalam Azad, Abdur Rahman Madani, Mafruha Khatoon, Shabbir Ahmad Kawsar, Khalilur Rahman, Burhan Uddin, AK Moudood Hasan, Mohammed Faizul Islam, Mohammed Marfath Ali, HM Abdul Mukit, Ahmed Abdul Malik and Farida Haque.
On being re-elected President, Hasan Mueenuddin said, “While it is not in our culture to seek such positions, I am humbled by the confidence my colleagues have shown towards me for a second term. I look forward to working with everyone to continue on the good work our organisation does to convey the beautiful and healing message of our faith”.
He added, “At a defining moment in the history of our country, we must become relentless in our efforts to breakdown down barriers of division that exist in our communities, urgently work with others to stem the menace of drugs and knife crime, and promote the values of being family and one community”.
He reminded everyone that “As Muslims, we must not only believe, but demonstrate our faith through positive interaction with others, and be examples to follow”.
He went on to say, “We extend our appreciation and gratitude to the Election Commission for conducting a smooth and transparent process, and I look forward to working with the newly elected Executive Council”.
