LBTV A Force for the community…
The Show Racism the Red Card team were at the Etihad Stadium to run the Awards Ceremony of the School Competition 2019. The winners, along with their families and teachers, arrived in the Legends Lounge at the Etihad Stadium where the Awards Ceremony would take place. Before the ceremony started, the young people were invited to go on a stadium tour, see their entries on display as part of an exhibition, get involved in some football skills with Mr.Silky Skills (Richard Braithwaite), design a balloon with the balloon artist and they also had chance to grab a quick picture with a number of trophies including the Premier League trophy.
Once the young people had sampled the entertainment on offer it was then time to begin the Ceremony. A variety of special guests were invited up to the stage to hand out prizes to young people for their winning entries of artwork, creative writing and multi-media.
Show Racism the Red Card’s Chief Executive, Ged Grebby said: “It is fantastic that the Premier League Champions, Manchester City Football Club, agreed to host this year’s School Competition Award Ceremony.”
“The competition sees thousands of young people take part annually and it is a hard job for the judges to pick the winners from so many great entries. This year there were some wonderfully original entries and we would like to thank all of the teachers for promoting the competition in their schools.”

This event is a fantastic example of the hard work and commitment of thousands of young people and the enthusiasm the SRtRC campaign inspires.
