Shohidul Islam, a Pathway Patients Coordinator with the National Health Service has been nominated and recognised by the Lord Mayor of the City of London and the Court of the Common Council for his services to the National Health Service during the pandemic.
Aside from his crucial role, Shohidul has worked with local charities to procure £30000 worth of essential supplies for the Royal London Hospital during the peak of the pandemic.
Shohidul also volunteers his time to the East End COVID-19 Support Network to deliver food to vulnerable residents in Tower Hamlets.
After the virtual ceremony Shohidul commented “I am truly humbled by this wonderful gesture and would like to thank my family, friends, colleagues for their continued support with everything I do.”
East End COVID-19 Support Network Founder Emdad Rahman commented, “The efforts of Shohidul have not gone unnoticed and his passion and hard work have shone a great light on the role of volunteers and the vital role they play day in, day out.
“Shohidul has been immense in this role despite juggling a demanding NHS role and a worthy appointment.”
