It was a game of two teams as the Brokerage Service and Approved Mental Health Services, Adult Social Care in Tower Hamlets took to the pitch to showcase the best of both.

The Brokerage Service is responsible for the sourcing and brokering of support arrangements for people with a range of urgent and longer-term needs.

This includes finding and negotiating residential and nursing placements, securing urgent services and brokering support as part of a personal budget.

The Approved Mental Health Services, Adult Social Care support the most vulnerable people, often in a crisis situation. Their vital work is underpinned by information gathering, risk assessments, critical analysis, multi-agency working and action planning.

The multi-disciplinary team comprises of Social Workers, Occupational Therapists and First Response Officers.

It was the idea of Abul Hussain from Adult Social Care to bring together both sides – To celebrate the best of two excellent teams both on and off the pitch.

A high scoring end to end game saw the young guns of the Brokerage Service edge a thriller 13-12.

Match sponsor, veteran footballer and prolific grassroots activist Sazzad Miah of Stroudley Grill, Bow, presented the trophy to the winners.

Game day manager Nasim Ahmed commented, “These are two tremendous teams which provide vital, life changing services to our community. These are people committed to bringing about positive change.

“Well done to everybody and after today’s fanfare and unity we hope to organise more games – It is a platform to celebrate the best of what we do.”
