Shahjahan joins 100 club

Barking and Dagenham resident Shahjahan Kadir has celebrated reaching a milestone after completing 100 ten kilometre runs. 

The 48 year old Maths teacher is a member of the Leftley Sports Club and has been living in Upney for almost four years. 

Kadir signed up with RunThrough in 2017 in a bid to improve his health and hasn’t looked back since. He said, “I started to experience changes in my general wellbeing and realised that changes needed to be made. I signed up for Leftley Sports Club, RunThrough and Parkrun  I’ve really enjoyed running and my health has improved to no end. 

“Hitting this milestone is special for me and I would like to thank my community and Leftley Sports Club for making such a big deal of this.”

Leftley Sports Club Chairman Muhammed Ali commented, “We are an inclusive club and we felt very strongly about celebrating Shahjahan’s milestone. He is a regular at our activities and is such a superb role model. We are confident that his achievement will inspire many more to adopt healthier lifestyle choices.”

Leftley Sports Club is an inclusive community, health & wellbeing group in Barking & Dagenham. 

parkrun organise free, weekly, 5km timed runs around the world. They are open to everyone, free, and are safe and easy to take part in.

RunThrough offer running events in London and running events around the UK. You can enter a 10k, 5k, 10 Mile, Half Marathon and Marathon.
