Explosive batsman Juwel Roy has been named batsman of the year 2018 for Neo Cricket Club.

The former Scintilla CC opener grew up playing cricket in Maijdee, Noakhali before moving to the UK for higher studies in 2010 where he continued his passion in playing cricket for local clubs in England.

In the 2018 cricket season Roy played for two different teams in two leagues and enjoyed remarkable success.

The English club Harold Wood praised Roy’s skill with the bat and awarded him a specially commissioned cricket bat to acknowledge his achievements and sterling performances.

Roy scored 385 runs in the Shepherd Neame Essex League Premier Division for Harold Wood CC. He also played for Neo Cricket Club in the National Cricket league where he was crowned Batsman of the Year as he bludgeoned 685 runs with his magic willow – Including 3 magnificent centuries and 1 half century.  This is the second time Roy has won the best Batsman of the year award. He was first awarded best batsman by Scintilla Cricket Club in 2016.

The highlight of his tremendous form in 2018 includes Roy’s masterclass innings of 101 runs from 85 balls against London Cricket Club where he steered the game from the opposition single handedly for Neo Cricket Club who were crowned Division 1 Champions after securing 12 wins out of 14 league games in the National Cricket League, London.

Speaking of his achievements the genial Roy, who is also the Players Manager at Neo CC said, “A series of mind blowing performances from my team mates brought us such success this season. I am really proud of the contributions I made towards achieving such spectacular glory. I thank my skipper and team mates for their continuous support throughout my journey.”
