As part of the charity’s community drive, staff and volunteers from Human Relief Foundation, London visited the Sundial Centre in Bethnal Green to meet, eat and play Bingo with elderly service users. The centre offers day care and a range of activities and services for local people.

Activities started off with two rounds of competitive Bingo followed by a hearty lunch. After some time spent befriending and talking the afternoon was spent playing board games and catching up on the news before tea was served.

Service user Mary, a lifelong Bethnal Green resident, won a round of Bingo and commented, “It’s always nice to see new faces and it reminds me that people care. I love playing Bingo and I won today – You all bought me luck!”

Khoyrul Shaheed from the Human Relief Foundation added, “Our London offices are based in Whitechapel. This is our neighbourhood and we take our local responsibilities very seriously.

“I would like to extend our collective thanks to the staff at the Sundial Centre for allowing us to visit and spend time with the wonderful members of the centre.

If you would like to volunteer please call 0207 377 6759.
