Splash Lifeskills youngsters from Poplar have been using the month of Ramadan to increase their community activities.
A small group of young people led by youth worker Amrana Begum visited Sonali Gardens community care centre and old people’s home to meet residents and spend time with them.
Both parties engaged with each other and the group also fed residents with home made biriani and sweet desserts.
A resident of Sonali Gardens said, “When young people are making the news for the wrong things it’s good news that we have plenty more who actually care about their elders and their neighbourhood. I hope others will follow their excellent activities.”
