In the final friendly before the Bangladesh District Cup 2019 Salman Ahmed’s Sunamganj beat Sylhet District in an all action game at Stepney Green.

Both teams played the limited overs indoor game at a frenzied pace as the Sixers cruised to an impressive win to set a definite marker down for the prestigious tournament itself.

Captain Salman Ahmed commented, “With less than 24 hours to go we wanted to have a get together and also familiarise ourselves with this format of the game which is very different to what many of the cricketers are used to. It was a successful match and an opportunity for both squads to meet up.”

Following the friendly officials from both teams were invited to a meal courtesy of Sunamganj at the Thai & Pie restaurant in Mile End.

Sunamganj Chairman Bokul Hussain added, “To represent ones District is a huge honour and we are committed to ensuring that we will participate with the right spirit at all times. We wish everyone the best of luck and may the best team win.”

The inaugural Bangladesh District Cup 2019 takes place on Sunday 24th March 2019 from 12-5 pm at the UEL Sports Dock, 4-6 University Way, London E16 2RD.
