Zoinul Abidin, Head of Universal Services commented, “South Asian people have some of the highest rates of diabetes and heart disease in the country and Genes & Health is a great research study set up to help fight against these and other major diseases. I would recommend that our community actively participates.”
By involving large numbers of local Bangladeshi and Pakistani people, the study hopes to find new ways of improving health for communities in the UK and worldwide.
Genes & Health is one of the world’s largest community-based genetics studies, aiming to improve health among people of Pakistani and Bangladeshi heritage by analysing the genes and health of 100,000 local people.
